HBConverter is a no frills video conversion app that offers the simple function of converting your videos into various formats that are suitable for playback on a number of popular video-watching devices. The interfaces is as straightforward as they come. You simply drag the video file you wish to convert into the app, select the device you wish to play the video on, and click convert. It supports batch conversion, can rip DVDs to MP4 files, and now supports conversion from stereoscopic 3D to regular 2D video.
Not Bad but Dishonest
As an video conversion app, HBConverter is not bad. It could probably do with a few more features considering the asking price, and it would be nice if it would support Blu-rays as well as DVDs. But the interface is clean and the process simple. The biggest issue, however, is the misleading naming. The app attempts to cash in on the success of a more popular video conversion app on the App Store by labelling itself almost identically. Be aware that this is not Handbreak.
